When does a 3D website pay for itself?
WebGL animation looks impressive but is not always necessary. Here is when it earns its place.

A 3D site is not decoration — it is a way to explain a product. It works when shape, material or internal structure actually matter.
When 3D is justified
- Physical products: packaging, furniture, vehicles, hardware.
- Explaining a complex process: a production line, the inside of a device.
- Premium positioning where being memorable is part of the goal.
When it is not
For a service company, a news site or a catalogue, a fast and simple site converts better.
The performance question
We tune scenes to hold 60 FPS on mobile too: simplified geometry, capped texture budgets and full respect for prefers-reduced-motion.
